Cal. UP & DOWN . . . . In the age of mass production we take pride in the manufacture of watches and clocks synthesized of first-class technical construction and careful workmanship. For this the raising and lowering movement at the Schaumburger Brücke represents a special example. Its balance spring pistons, for instance, are engraved with a stylus, in finest filigree handicraft. The finishing of the metal blanks is done by an elaborate handicraft grinding technique or, if desired, by filigree manual engraving. The power reserve display of the raising and lowering work indicates precisely when it is the time to enjoy the feeling of the mechanical winding-up of the movement by moving the winder.
